One tip that may help everyone to start with.. Check out the "Edit My Preferences" link to the right hand side of the main screen once you are logged in. In there you can add your signature and change your board preferences to display as many or as few threads/posts you'd like to see. Also, you can chose whether or not to have the text of a reply in your email notification, set how you want to display the threads and many other updates.
