I'll be so happy when iVillage is at full mast again! Frown There's so much to tell all of you, but I don't have the time right now. I've been having a problem with being able to post here, so I thought I'd try to one more time. Of course, we don't know what tomorrow will bring. Wink

Oh Dear! Just look for the cheapest dignified funeral that you can find. Cremation is usually less expensive than in the dirt funerals. We have a municipal cemetary and that is certainly a lot less expensive than the others. Because I live near the pacific ocean is common for people here to have their ashes disposed of in the ocean. I am so sorry that this one more thing for you to think about. Is your mother trying to contact your brother? I wouldn't put it past her even with what he did to her.

Geri, I hope things start to get better real soon.

Mom is not doing well at all. The stroke she had was a mild one, thank goodness, and she has full use of her arm and hand, as well as having no problems with her speech. However, she is having problems with her feet swelling and diarrhea. I'm afraid she'll become dehydrated very quickly. (She's at home, btw.) She sleeps almost all of the time, doesn't want to walk (she DOES have a walker) and she eats very little. She used to do word search all of the time, but she hasn't touched one of her books at all. I think she's giving up. With my brother taking all of her money, there isn't a way to properly bury her when the time comes. We certainly cannot afford a funeral on our meager income. Her life insurance isn't enough to cover even half of the expenses. For once, I'd like a little good news and less stress.

Geri,

I was wondering how your mom was doing and I have been checking for updates. I hope you will be able to let us all know soon how both of you are doing.
