Senior Life Alert Products & phone interference

My mother subcribed to "Life Watch" which is one of those services where you wear a device & press button for help if you've "fallen & can't get up". Apparently, it interfered with her phone & I understand they tried to resolve the problem but couldn't so she's getting a refund of the initial $100. I am thinking that all these services must work the same way & I don't see how going with another service will be any different. Has anybody had this experience with this service interfering with the phone? What is the solution? Thanks.
P.S. After posting I used to check a box that would send me an email if somebody replied to my post, but that box is no longer available. How come?
