I have had anxiety since i was 18, i am now 40. I had it pretty well under control. Then on Friday i got up with a pain in my left arm down by my elbow, i tried to just brush it off , but then it moved up into my muscle and i started having heart palpitations and was pacing the floor telling my husband i was dying. I got it under control and was just anxiouse. I couldnt get the anxiousness to go away though so i went and seen my dr. on Monday. She listened to everything and my heart and said it was just my anxiety. She ordered some blood tests. Then yesterday i had a pain in my left shoulder blade it hurt when i breathed and took deep breaths, but if i sat certain way it didnt hurt at all. I cant seem to get over the fear that im dying. every little pain is my death ticket. Should i go by what the dr says and just keep telling myself its anxiety or should i ask for an ekg and more tests?

Honestly, for your own peace of mind, I would ask for more tests if you can afford them. You probably won't be happy until you have those tests to rule out problems so go ahead and get them now rather than to obsess over them.

Good luck
