Anxiety increasing again!

Hi thank you for your support and for your help.

I have been diagnosed with GAD for 12 years.  I have had panic attacks with GAD almost the entire time.  Right now after about 5 years without an anxiety/panic attack they are coming back with a vengance.  This increase has only been in the past couple of weeks and does not seem to decrease, but also seems to be isolating me and causing a depressed state of mind.

I know I am under a lot of stress (mom of a 9 yr old, fiance without a job for 4 years, parent's caretaker, etc.) and just trying to relax as I have done in the past is not working.  And while things are getting tough I do realize things are different for everyone and each has their own hardships.

Any help, suggestions, support would be greatly appreciated.

Mine and my son's has increased to, so has my daughter's.

There is just a lot going on and sometimes I think we just become over-whelmed!

Hi, Are you on medication?  If you are, are you willing to try an increase in that medication.  If you are not, are you willing to go on meds?

I don't know what type of techniques you use but I can suggest some that work for me and my son.  Yoga is great for us both.  I meditate.  It is hard to meditate when you are in a constant state of anxiety though.  Jogging or walking helps.  Bike riding is wonderful for me.  Sometimes a shower helps me to relax.

Hang in there hon.  Don't let the fear of it coming back cause you to have more anxiety.  You've been through this before and you were able to get it under control, you can do it again.  You are wiser this time around.

I've been on meds.  Right now I don't feel the need to go on them, I do a lot beter without them.

I've been hiking more and knitting.  I'm trying to regain some time and space for me.  It's a work in progress, as is life.

Thank you for your kind words and suggestions!

Me time is so important.  I need to make more of that for myself.  Tomorrow I am going to get the boxes out of storage to put away the thanksgiving decorations and I will see if I can find my scetching box.  I have all I need to sketch with but I like my box and I can take it to the park and I think DH and I need to go to the park soon and often.  I need to put some distance between me and my mother.  We now all live in her house.

I love to hear people's hobbies.  I'm very artsy crafty and I like to hike, climb and fish.  LOL!  I don't knit but I do crochet.  I'm going to take my dh fishing out at the spillway.  It has been high for a bit now so the fish should be hungry.  During my anxiety attack I kind of forgot about how relaxing fishing is for me.  DH finds me amusing when I fish because I tell all the fish I'm sorry for catching them and then I thank them for biting my hook and allowing me to eat them.  Then we went to see Avatar and Dh doesn't think I'm so odd now.

I'm glad to hear you are doing better.  It helps just talking to others who understand what you have been through.
