Hello all!

It has been awhile since I have visited this board and I have missed it! An update for those who read my posts in the past...still on Zoloft 150 mg once at bedtime and staying busy volunteering and interning. On another note, graduation is this December! How has everyone been?

My question that brings me here to today is about anxiety following general anesthesia from a wisdom tooth extraction. I went under Thursday and had all four teeth pulled. Saturday, I had to go to the ER for chest pain and shortness of breath due to a possible blood clot. Luckily, a simple blood test showed no signs so I was sent home with the possibility of acid reflux. Well, I still have the pain in my chest but now I am also having TERRIBLE dizziness (vertigo) and headaches. I am also having really bad depersonalization and trouble sleeping. I was wondering if this was normal and maybe I'm just stressed out from Saturday? Maybe this will wear off at some point? Or should I head back to the doc?

Hi Chuistine and Ubergeek! Thank you for the responses. I agree that maybe I should head back to the doctor. I figure I will wait until Friday and if nothing improves, I will head back to the doctor. That gives me over a full week for any side effects and what not.

It is so frustrating to have the anxiety come back though. I find myself tossing and turning all night with depersonalization and an increased heart rate. My leg falls asleep and my brain jumps to "blood clot." It is definitely effecting my routine. Well, thank you both again for the reassurance and the advice!

Hi!

I'm sorry you're going through all that! (Congrats on the upcoming graduation though!!)

Uhm, it's hard to say exactly what's going on, but I can tell you that after I had my DD, my blood pressure went up and didn't come down (ended up being preeclampsia but post baby). Anyway, the only way to relieve pre-e is to have the baby, but obviously I had already had her. :smileywink: So I started getting anxious over having high BP and worrying about this and that. About two weeks later I ended up in the ER with chest pain They did all the tests and x-rays for heart issues and ended up saying acid reflux. I did end up going for an echocardiogram which showed nothing. I still had the pain but it eventually went away. Another doctor had said I may have pulled a muscle and that will hurt like chest pain.

The vertigo and headaches though, that's different. I'd say you probably do have some anxiety going on BUT you may have something else as well (which could be as simple as an inner ear infection from what it sounds like...). I'd definitely hit up the doctor again, just to be safe. :smileyhappy:

Feel better! Do let us know how you make out!!
