How was the wedding?

Mine went well and the happy couple are back from their honeymoon.  My nephew is a very handsome boy.  Takes after his bio-dad in that respect with just enough cajun to put him over the top in good looks.  The bride is such a beautiful girl.  She was even more beautiful as a bride and I didn't think it possible for her to be more beautiful.  For a catholic ceremony it was short.  They did't do a mass and I didn't know that was an option.

I sat quietly in the corner at the groom's family table and watched the whole thing.  The music sucked.  It wasn't rap or hip-hop but my other nephew said it was closer to hip-hop in his opinion.  He didn't know what it was called either.

All in all it was enjoyable.

btw I did get my nails done and now I can hardly type.  LOL!

Hi! I'm so sorry I haven't been around. I've been swamped with work and having a really hard time at home. First things first: the wedding.

It went well enough, LOL. My shoes, for some reason, were killing me. I don't know what happened. I wore them at home to get used to the height and the feel. No issues. Perhaps my feet knew something. ;) I thought for sure I was going to pass out at the altar. My hair was atrocious. My sister insisted on us all getting it done at the same place and well, they curled it and it was just bad. The wedding itself was beautiful. I don't cry at weddings, but I started to cry when my sister walked in. Not sure if it was due to the fact that my dh was walking her down the aisle or not, but regardless, there I stood like a blubbering fool. My new BIL got choked up during his vows which started me off again. But thankfully it was a short service. The reception wasn't too bad. Luckily we were at one of the tables near the bride and groom, AWAY from the stage. ;) Music was loud but my DD and DS danced their hearts out. My DS had a rough time at the reception, but it was a very long day. We were all gone from 10am until midnight. He had enough about 11:30 and just couldn't deal. Everything was bothering him. My new BIL can do that loud whistle and that was setting DS off.

Now my home issues—we had an incident at school and I'm just out of my element and my anxiety is super high. I'm trying to deal with it and trying to find an advocate to go to a school meeting (that I have yet to set up) but I know I'm not being as aggressive as I should be simply because I hate confrontation of any manner and it's been making my stomach knot up like nothing else. :( It's weighing on my mind all the time. It's all I can think about. Sigh.

I'm glad your wedding went well! Music is funny. It sounds like I wouldn't have enjoyed that either. My sister had the regular, run of the mill wedding music. Some new songs mixed in, but I really can't complain. Just too loud for this old, 34-year-old gal. LOL!

I'm really glad the wedding went well.  I wish these young kids would understand that there are old folks at these weddings.  This was the second one I went to that didn't play any of the traditional songs or songs you could actually slow dance to.  I'm 44 and even though we were on the opposite side of the room from the dj the room was small.  The reception was held in an old plantation that was once a brothal.  It was just a bunch of tiny rooms.

As for the other issue, we often make it worse on ourselves than the actual event that we were avoiding.  Get your ducks in a row.  Your son has real documented issues.  Bring in copies of that documentation.  Get his therapist to write a letter to the school.  It might cost you a few bucks but well worth it.  If your son is in public school there are laws in place to protect him.  Your son's therapist could probably tell you what they are and certainly an advocate can.  {{{{{hugs}}}}}
