I know that is seems childish to be scared of storms but once again it's getting dark out and I am panicking. I live in an area of the country that does see tornadic activity and I've never taken a direct hit from a tornado but have seen damage first hand. Everytime a storm brews up I am unable to function. I keep thinking I should move somewhere else but then what, am I going to start panicking over hurricanes or earthquakes? How do I get ahold of myself?

I know what you mean but you have to realize that while it seems as though tornadoes destroy half the country every year, they don't.  I don't know if it will help or not but maybe do some research on storms and you will find that the probability of being directly hit by one (especially a large one like the recent hit to Oklahoma City) is low. There are a lot of factors involved so you may find out you are in a much safer location than what you think.
