Why work anymore?

I don't sleep anymore because I am so worried about finances. I can't figure out why I need to work anymore. I have so many friends on disability and other government aid that I'm thinking it would be easier to throw in the towel and join them. I don't have an education and can't afford to get one so I am stuck in lower paying jobs. My friend gets more money to spend on groceries from food stamps than I get with a full time job. I would have to quit my job to qualify for help but in all reality, we would have more money to spend. Does this make any sense to anyone or am I really losing my mind.

Well, IMO, just about everyone is worrying about finances. I'd be willing to bet that a huge portion of this country lives paycheck to paycheck these days. Cost of living is on the rise with now rise in income. :( It's a worry I myself have.

However, I do feel that if you're able to work, then you should. I don't really think highly of those who use the system when it's not needed. It only makes it harder for those who need it but can't get it as well as, well, look at the system now.

I know the idea is nice, but I'd try to figure something else out. There is supplemental assistance available, have you looked into any of that?
