According to Health Day News:

"Researchers have developed a blood test that could one day help diagnose teens with depression.

To create the test, researchers identified 26 potential biological markers for depression. Then they tested the markers in a small group of teens and found that a handful of them could distinguish the teens with major depression from those without depression." READ MORE

Would having a blood test for depression help the stigma associated with mental illness? How would such a test help you?

Heck yeah I would. Not so much for me cuz I already know I have the disorder but potentially for my developing offspring for sure. The sooner you catch this the less likely it is to go totally psychotic or para. I would through myself on a grenade for my imaginary kids. Knowing that I'm a carrier of the genes that could be spead down to mg family I would feel obligated to at least make the effort.
