Hi all! My mom has been showing signs of depression. She's pulling away from visiting with all the grandkids, not going shopping like she used to, and so on. My sisters think she's fine, but I'm really thinking she's depressed over something. If you ask her, she says she's fine. But how long can I wait for her to snap out of it before I tell her she needs help, especially when it appears she's in denial.

Thanx.

Hi there. I'm sorry. I think if it's been over a month that would be my limit. Sometimes people get the blues, but when it starts affecting their every day life and it is prolonged, that's when they can sometimes use some extra help. I'd have her make an appointment with her doctor. It could be something simple like low vitamin D. Either way, it wouldn't hurt! Please let us know how it turns out!!

Maybe she might not be feeling well...Has she had her Vitamin B checked?..Does he have other health issues/or concerns?
I would just talk to her and say that you are concerned. Sometimes it is really hard to reach out and ask for help.
Let her know that you are there for her...
