I hope everyone is doing well.

I have been depressed for a few weeks now, which is unusual for me.  I usually am depression for up to a week, then feel better.  It comes and goes, but currently, it is not going away :(

I do not share about it much anymore as there is nothing anyone can do.  I have had more personal problems this past month and I am sure that is most of it.

I also have went off my anti depressant Prozac a few weeks ago, with the support of my doctor.  The reason is because as many of you may remember, I had been having daytime extreme fatique for a very long time and dr.'s could not find out what the reason was, as all tests came back normal.  We thought it could be sleep apnea, but no so sure now.  I found out that the medication Prozac can result in a person not hitting "deep stage 3 sleep"  We now are thinking that was my problem and why I had been so tired.  Since off Prozac, I feel so much more awake and rested each day.  But, the depression.....???

For me, it is not foresure if my depression is situational or chemical.  I was diagnosed when my mom passed away in 1997.

So, thanks for letting me vent in the one place I feel safe to cry.

Hi Heidi,

I'm sorry you're having a really rough time. I've been having a hard time with depression for the past few weeks and it's only getting worse (I got some bad news and then yesterday came down with a stomach virus which means I had to cancel Thanksgiving at my house).

Not knowing your history, is there maybe another drug you can try? Or something that would alleviate some of your depression? I've been on a few things and know their helpfulness varies. Not sure what else you've tried. Maybe, if you haven't already, check with your doctor to see if maybe you can go back on the prozac and get help for the sleep another way? There's got to be some help for you. (((HUGS)))

Oh, honey.  *hugs*  I'm sorry that you're feeling so crummy.  Going off medication is always hard, one way or another.  Have you discussed any alternatives to the Prozac?

Thank you both for your caring words. I am sorry for not responding soner, you probably know how when you are so depressed, you just sleep. I appreciate both of you! I am feeling better. Nothing in my life has changed, still same depressing issues, but I guess I am just numb now, kwim? So tired of people who make promises or similar and then break them. No one is perfect, but just tired of counting on pl as it seems I just get hurt.
