Natural ginseng

Has anyone ever taken ginseng for depression?  Did it help?

I can look online, just was wondering, as a friend mentioned if I could take it.

I am thinking or guessing I can't take it with other anti-depressants.  I know to consult my doctor and not mix herbs and prescription medication.  Just wanted opinions.
