I don't know if it matters, but I just turned 60, and have been taking anti-depressent meds off and on for the last 35 years. For those who have not heard of it, my family dr. recently prescribed Deplin 15 mg in addition to the Sertraline 150 mg (Zoloft generic) and Clonazepam .5 mg I was already taking for depression and anxiety. (I take several other meds that I was taking when I sank into my last depression, but if u want to know what they are, just reply to this message.)  It seems to be working as I am feeling better and better little by little. Deplin is considered a medical food. You can read more about how it works at deplin.com and other websites if you google it. The problem is, it's expensive. My first 90 day supply was $288 and my insurance won't cover it because it a medical food! I started searching the internet and found it for $144 for a 90 day supply at the following website.

I hope this helps someone out there. This board has helped me so much when I have been in the depths of depression and needed to talk about it anonymously. Good luck to all of you out there who are struggling with this debilitating and greatly misunderstood disease.

Interesting!  I have never heard of Deplin.  I'm on Lamictal and celexa (generic).  I haven't noticed much difference, but I suppose it would be worse if I wasn't taking medication.
