I was skulking on the board, and I noticed that a lot of you ladies have men in your lives with depression.

Hey,

Not sure what to advise you. This does not sound like a good situation, especially if there is any possible danger to your child. Is it possible for you and your child to move out

I think your DH may still need some additional professional help.

He's actually much calmer, and going to the psychiatrist twice a week. I'm just frustrated.

I'm not too worried, since my son's a lot bigger than my DH, I'm just mad at him.

I can only tell you some of the things that I've done when my DH acts out.

No, that was helpful. My DH has always had his issues, but not so, I don't know, BAD. I know he loves all of us, and we love him. If he had, say, diabetes, we'd be going through a lot with his health status going up and down, and depression/anxiety are no less destructive, or difficult to control. Having never been depressed, I don't know how he feels, true, but that doesn't mean I don't care, which he tends to lose site of when he gets into his moods. The harshness and negativity, and yelling, are the worst, for sure, but I think we've all just learned to tune a lot of it out over the years. Luckily, he doesn't drink a lot or do drugs, as that would make things a million times worse, I'm sure. We're going to family councelling next week, so that should be a big help to me and the kids! Luckily, the boys are old enough, at 11 and 17, to get out of the house when he's wigging out, though he doesn't tend to do that much when I'm not home. I'm the one person he trusts, so he lets it ALL out for me. I really wish he'd get a friend!!!
