It's sad when people only blab off the same spew of calling a help line not genuinely interested in helping someone on a real meaningful level. My family is too scared to talk 'this talk' with me, as well as my friends are too. Therapists reject me and now, I'm rejecting myself. ftw~

HI and welcome to the board. You have found a place where we genuinely are interested because we are people persons and we care. Many of us are here on iVillage because we want to make a difference in other people's lives and this is a place where we can do that.

We would love to learn about more about you. Please feel free to share what is happening in your life.

We do care, we really do. We don't have the answers, we wish we did but everyone here is genuinely supportive and caring

so I hope you come and talk with us.

I'm scared that the helpline will rush EMTS over to my house to take me away to some mental facility. The ones where I live are like prisons. They make people walk around like zombies all day in their pajamas. No thank you.

Believe it or not I have tried all of those routes including the church. The church only offered help if I would change my sexual orientation because they don't accept homosexuals. Nice huh? And then I tried those sliding scale clinics. I have called everyone within my network and no one will take me unless I pay out the wazoo and I just don't have that kind of money. Alcohol is the only thing that is helping me cope right now and I'm afraid I'll never get the help I need. Thanks for your advice, I've taken it and I have called everyyyyyyywhere... Unbelievable. You can go to the doctor for a cold, flu or anything, but mental help-----they just shut you out.

It is sad indeed when people choose not to help others because they don't fit into a standard role in life. It isn't fair and it isn't right but sadly it happens to often.
