I don't understand this

Hi tobylady, you and I could be the same person! I have been experiencing the same situation. My husband is an amazing man and father. He takes care of us and loves us unconditionally. Unfortunately, I (like yourself) don't appreciate any of it. The "roommate" situation is so hard to deal with. I couldn't deal with it. I've told him that we can't be together, it's not fair for either of us. I am hurting him and myself in the process. I am not financially secure and I am raising five children. But in order for any of us to find peace in our lives this is what I have to do.
There isn't any right or wrong answer to your situation. I will encourage you to look deep into your heart to find the best decision for you and your husband. The fact that he is a good man doesn't necessarily mean he is good for you, or you for him. Everyone has the right to be happy. I truly hope that you find the rainbow after the storm.
