Want to sleep

I wanted to know if anyone else has experience this with depression.

This past week, there were 3 days that I literally slept about 20 out of a 24 hr. time period.  My husband was off work to watch the children and I actually WANTED to stay in bed all day and all night, just getting up to talk to my kids, and eat.  I have had this before but this past week, it was like something was pulling me to my bed and I would try to get up and stay up, but just wanted to sleep.  I know this is part of depression, but if I could, I probably would not get out of bed each day.

Wouldn't you think I would get sick of being in bed?  And when I layed down, I always fell right to sleep.

Anyone else experience this?  It is embarrassing for me to tell anyone this Embarassed

Thanks for letting me share here where I feel safe and not judged.

Hi Free!

Thanks...:)...

I would love to go to a naturopathic doctor but cannot afford to...:(...

Hopefully though that might be changing soon.

Like you my faith has been tested.

I love what you said to Heidi...

"Well hopefully these things pass but in the mean time dont be so hard on yourself and do the best you can.."
Wise words!

Hi Lorie,

Thank you for your response.

I actually have had sleep studies done and may now have some answers.

Long story, I will private message you soon with the details.

Hugs back to you!

Hi All;

I like Lori's response and would agree with it also.. I notice that in Wintertime even cats and dogs hibernate and sleep more so I am wondering if humans are like that also...It could be just hibernating cause I know I am doing it also.. Its been cold even here in NY and temps are going down all the time and I am noticing I am not feeling depressed but just blah and blah whatever that means..

I would get a check up although I havent had much faith in doctors these days as they seem to be not ever diagnosing anything right anymore.. I am going to try some alternative stuff like aloe vera and some teas to perk me up.. Not sure how that works but western medicine doesnt seem to cut if anymore.. So Heidi if you can see a naturopathic doctor if they take insurance.. I wish I could afford one of those..

Well hopefully these things pass but in the mean time dont be so hard on yourself and do the best you can..

take care

I think you needed it honestly...

I know with my other health issues my RA and also heart disease I deal with Fatigue.

Have you been to the doctor for a check-up?

A physical within the past year?

Vitamin b12 among other things can cause lack of energy.

Medications etc.

My heart goes out to you Heidi...
