Can an older man develop anorexia?

I am concerned about an older gentleman that I have been taking care of for a few years. He seems to have become obsessed with gettting and staying thin. He barely eats and I am very concerned over this nutrition. He has placed himself on a very strange diet and I am sure he is not eating nearly enough.

Yes, my father-in-law is in his 80's and is being treated for an eating disorder. They tell me it is common in the elderly so please contact the doctor or social worker of the man you are caring for.

Yes! I agree it is definitely possible! I worked with the elderly and it is quite common.
