They may according to Health Day News. "A lack of support following traumatic life events such as relationship problems, the loss of a loved one, abuse and sexual assault can trigger eating disorders, a small new study finds.

People with eating disorders said even changing schools or jobs could trigger eating disorders such as anorexia or bulimia, according to the University of Minnesota researchers." read more

Yes I definitely have heard every single one of those reasons. I've probably said some of the same things too. Anything that causes me stress will trigger my ED. It's a coping mechanism so of course if there's an event to cope with, the ED is always there. One of the biggest triggers for me is anger. So anything that makes me particularly angry will hit the ED switch on. I think because anger is overwhelming to me. I don't know how to deal with anger when it gets intense.

Interesting study but not surprising to me at all.
