Do you feel that the media fuels eating disorders? Does seeing zero sized models and airbrushed

Personally, I don't think so. I think it's part of the ED obsession. The media didn't make me anorexic. Does it fuel the ED? Not really. I obsess about looking like an airbrushed model or whatever but it's just part of my ED behaviors.

Emotional stuff fuels my disorder. Anger (like revenge starving), depression, stress, etc....that all fuels my behaviors.

I could write a book on what I think started my ED. I was prone

Hey Maryah,

I am inclined to agree with you that while the media can re-enforce ED , it is not the root cause.

How are you doing?

Doing okay. I had my first doc appt. today. About 6 weeks along now.

I still hate how huge I am already. To make matters worse, the doctor scale is way off! This could be a problem :/

Hey Maryah,

maybe don't ask and don't look at the scales, so that the numbers don't have a prominent place in your mind?

Ugh...it's so hard. Beyond difficult not to know those numbers!!! :/ I suppose I could ask them not to tell me but then I'd be freakin out thinking I've gained like 100 lbs. I suppose I could just go by what my own scale says. I can almost handle the weight gain as long as I don't gain more than necessary. Already I can hear the ED planning out how this weight has to come off asap after the birth!

I can hold it together now for the sake of having a healthy baby. Afterwards is gonna be the problem.

Once baby has arrived though you need to stay strong and healthy to care for him/ her and set a good example so they won't fall into ED.
