Do you talk to yourself in a negative way, or a positive way? What kinds of words do you use?

when i was young i had a broken record with old tapes playing over and over again from childhood words. but with many years of doing affirmations i finally was able to get rid of those old tapes and i always have good things to say to myself. it's a great feeling to be good to myself.

i did the broken-record thing, too - it's weird what our minds absorb as children (and how much of it is taken out of context). it can take a long time to realize that those words aren't the truth. i'm glad that you figured it out :)

i've never read louise hay's books, but i will check them out!

You know, I have recently realized that I am actually a very optimistic person. I tend to talk to myself in more positive ways. If I get upset or mad, even though I am more optimistic, at the moment i feel that way it is pretty bad. I can feel either very angry or very sad, when I realize just how negative I feel, I talk myself out of feeling that way.
I have come to realize that feeling negative is all personal and controllable so why make myself feel miserable when that does nothing for me...
It takes time but acknowledging my moods and addressing them really makes a difference.
