I have low self esteem...it was up.and it came back...im working through it but I do find it frustrating at times. I tend to second guess myself on things and thats not good...im getting better but its frustrating....
Has anyone second guessed on things and felt horrible finding out your first thought was right? I was always told I had good instincts which im sooooo happy I listened to it. I recently read that your gut can be right the majority of the time.
Has anyone regret second guessing things and how do you not and be sure that its the right decision at times?

Hi and Welcome. I think we have all done some second guessing and then been upset with ourselves over the results. It seems to happen a lot doesn't it? :)

Hey, giggles, it's nice to meet you. What is it that makes you not follow your gut? I always regret it when I don't follow mine, so I've been trying to work on that. My parents and older relatives say that trusting your intuition is something that gets easier as you get older (and I'm only 34, so I've got a long way to go). Maybe as an exercise, you could make a list of instances where you didn't follow your gut and what the outcome was for each, and what you learned. Anyway, I'm looking forward to getting to know you, and just remember that intuition is something that you have to learn how to trust.

Hi...

I do and I don't....I know when I did, I was sooooo happy that I did and then when I didn't...I regretted it. I do regret one though, but I guess I was confused in a sense....

I'm not sure why I don't follow it sometimes...not enough confidence sometimes I guess. I got told that I have good instincts...I guess I have to trust it more.

I'm learning to trust it more, but I still second guess it...I guess it is my confidence levels too.

I know my gut is good with meeting people...most of the time is right....a few times I didn't listen to it and I regretted it..and so I learned to trust it more when I meet new people.

I guess I need to build more self confidence and then I will be okay...

How many "right" decisions have you made, versus "wrong" ones?

Were the wrong ones completely wrong, or could you take at least one good thing from each of them?

The wrong ones were really wrong? I don't get it.

With some I was able to take one good thing. I guess with every wrong we can learn from it too or every decision is made we can learn from it...some are hard and some are easy. I guess its out we look at it too...

No, you got it. You learn something from each decision that you make. That's what I wanted you to see. No decision is "right" or "wrong", because each one has its own set of consequences, some of which you won't see for years. So you may think that you made the "wrong" decision now, but in a few years it may turn out to have been the "right" one. Are you feeling better about listening to your intuition?

I am...I still continue to second guess afterwards...sometimes I just need reassurance or something...
