Contraceptives Work Well in Obese Women, But Hormone Levels Lower

This week Health Day News has published an article on a new study done around obese women and hormonal birth control. Also discussed is weight gain by those using hormonal contraceptives.

"Hormonal contraceptives appear to thwart pregnancy just as well in overweight and obese women as those of normal weight despite markedly lower pregnancy-prevention hormone levels among heavier females, a group of reproductive experts said." READ MORE

The pill (I've been on the same one over 10 years) did not affect my weight at all one way or the other. I'd been on it for years happily maintaining my weight and it was stress, depression, and some other things that lead to my weight gain a couple of years ago. When I decided to lose weight the pill did not present any challenges.
