Starting the pill for the first time

hi!
i will be starting the pill Loestrin 24 FE. I got my period today, wednesday, my doctor explained that I can start it either that day or on the first sunday. However, on my pill case, it says to start on sunday. (the pills are organized by date, the first day being sunday). I wanted to start the pills today, but should I wait til sunday? What if my period ends before that? help!!

If your doctor told you what your day options are for starting the pill then any of those will be fine. Most pill manufacturers design the packs with the assumption of a Sunday start. Mine were like this and I just put a piece of tape over it and wrote in the correct days. For example, I was a Tuesday start. So I replaced the pill packs Sunday with Tuesday and so on. I would highly suggest writing in your own days to avoid getting mixed up and missing a dose or taking too many doses.
