You have heard about the pill

I don't know if this is a question or a vent. I am newly married and 38 weeks pregnant with my first child and I am so irritated at the number of people who have asked me if I have heard of the pill. I am working as a waitress (this is my last week before I go on leave) and I am so very tired of people saying to me, "You do know about the pill, right?" Complete strangers will "joke" with me about birth control pills. I am very uncomfortable and I usually just try to laugh it off but really, it seems like every person I know has asked if I plan to get on the pill when the baby is born. When did such a personal topic become public?!

Congrats on the baby! How are you feeling?

I've heard people ask pregnant women "You do know how that happened don't you" and honestly I find it so rude. Just don't reply when people ask you about the birth control. Don't smile or try to be polite. Maybe they'll learn that it is not appropriate to ask someone such questions.

Are they trying to imply that you are too old to get pregnant or have a child? That seems to be the rudest thing, I can't even imagine why people would say that, especially if they don't even know you. Hugs!! And congrats on the baby!!
