i am 37 years old and have had 2 yeast infections in my entire life time..i've had 1 full term pregnancy and 1 miscarriage..for a whle now i've been experiencing itching, discharge and painful sex..i had STI testing done last Oct and all came back clear and had a pap smear done with my physical done just this Feb and have heard nothing back on those results..i don't have LOTS of sex like i did back when i was in my teens and 20's..infact since i turned 30 sex just hasn't really been that important to me..i try not to scratch that area as it causes that delicate skin to bleed(like a scrape does)..i keep myself clean and actually switched from the typical body washes/shower gels that i use to Vagisil..i use both the wipes and the wash to keep that area and the rest of me clean..i do have 2 sexual partners(both of whom are clean but 1 is going to get retested to make sure) and neither have had any problems..i do not use proctection with either of them except my birth control..i WAS diagnosed with HPV in 2010, had a polyp removed via colposcopy and all has been fine since..i've made an appt with my family doc tomorrow so i hope this isn't anything more than just a yeast infection and nothing worse..what are the chances that this could be something worse?

Oh, you are sensitive! I've been looking for more natural lubricants and found several on line. I haven't tried any though. I use the KY Sensitive and it seems okay. Does the job, I suppose! :smileyhappy: Come back and let us know what works for you. I always like to get others opinions on products.

Glad you are feeling better!

Hi cinderkitty77!:-)..it wasn't my actual family doc that took the swab, it was her resident and yeah i i thought it was a little odd that she didn't comment on the white discharge or the scratch marks that were around the inner part of my vagina..not right inside but the outer skin..she did ask me if i had taken anything OTC for it and i said no as i was unsure if it was a yeast infection or something else..i haven't heard anything yet as to the results BUT on a brighter note, my lady business is feeling better..since my menstrual cycle started during the exam, there has been no itching, scratches are gone, no discharge(except for the usual mess during my cycle..lol)..i feel fine and so does my vagina..just so u know i don't douce..never have and never will..i just thought maybe switching from body washes that were fruity scented to something that was more for THAT area would be better..i cannot use soap of ANY kind..irritates the HECK outta my vagina..doesn't matter HOW careful i am washing that area, if soap gets any where near my inner vaginal skin...OY!:smileysad:..i have also noticed i am going to have to be careful when choosing lubes for sex or masturbating..i bought a bottle of Silk-E by KY and i can't use it as it irritates me..i'm gonna try and go back to Astroglide when i get paid and see if i can still handle that stuff as saliva is just not cutting it anymore for lubricant..

Hi there!

Sounds like your appointment went well. Your doctor didn't have any opinion on what it could be? She would have seen signs of a yeast infection. I hope you start feeling better.

The products you are using really are unnecessary. A mild soap on the outer vulva is enough to keep you clean. Douching can actually be harmful to the balance in your vagina. It's self cleaning!

Are you still feeling uncomfortable?

Hi cmkarla..well the appt went fine..the did not find anything abnormal however my cycle had JUST started while i was being examined, but they took a sample anyway but did tell me that could hamper the results..she said she'd get the swab out right away, told me if i started feeling really crappy(which i don't) to go to emergency..it'll take about 2 wks to get the results back..oh and correction, it's not Vagisil wash i am using, it's Summer's Eve..lol..sorry about that mix-up..oh and the pap smear i had back in April during my physical came back normal so that's always nice to hear too..

Hi and welcome. Any time you have the syptoms you have described it's always best to see a doctor. Since it's been a few days since you posted, hopefully you've gotten good news by now.

We'd love to know how this turns out for you. :-)
