I had a myomectomy almost three years ago to remove my fibroids. It took care of the heavy bleeding.

Hi, I am 29yrs ,married and have no children.

I am experiencing the same situation right now. I was recently diagnosed with 2 fibroids which is between 3-4cm. The heavy bleeding was what prompted me to go to the doctor. I was referred to a OB/GYN...well, when i met the OB/GYN, she said that I shouldn't worry about the situation because the fibriods are very small right. She gave me 10mg Provera to stop the heavy bleeding

I do know that the pill can help shrink cysts, but don't know for sure about shrinking fibroids, I didn't read up on anything before responding to your post.
If the fibroids are small, they shouldn't necessarily hinder your chances of becoming pregnant.

It's a sucky situation.

The Provera is a stop gap measure. The bleeding will come back just as bad in a couple of months.

Small fibroids don't normally cause fertility problem. They may grow during pregnancy but normally don't interfere. During both of my sister pregnancies, they watched them, and she delivered to health boys.

If the bleeding continues to be problem you might want to look into a hysteroscopy myomectomy. It's a minimally invasive procedure that it designed for small fibroids.

Check out the National Uterine Fibroids Foundation at nuff.org there is a message board with great info and resources.

Good luck
