Frustrated with the "smells!"

Hello All,

New to this board! I believe this is the right one for me. Smile

I've been struggling with "odors" for years, and currently pregnant, it's a lot worse, but I just don't think it's normal. I've been checked a few times over the years and the doctors always say it's nothing, BUT then they also say it's a very strong odor. That just blows my mind when they say that because there must be SOMETHING wrong, right? The best way I can describe it is that "just had sex" smell. My SO and I have only been sexually active 2-3x a week because we are just so worn out thoughout the day. I shower 2 times a day and use Sumnmer's Eve sensitive skin wash every time, and I've even just recently began using cleansing cloths in hopes that it would work, but still, the smell continues. That just doesn't seem right to me. Frown

I also wear only cotton underwear, since it's just more comfy to me anyway and I drink plenty of water. I just don't get it and it's really making me feel uncomfortable and embarrassed. My SO once in a while says it really is bad smelling down there, lol. It's bad when you're just sitting there and smell it without even trying.

Is there anything out there that might work? Has anyone else struggled with this? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for reading.

Hi there!

I can imagine how frustrating that is.  I assume you are having regular visits with your OB so they would detect if there was an infection.  The risk of vaginal infections can increase during pregnancy.  Thank you hormones!  Lots of things change during pregnancy so make sure it isn't an infection because that could be very dangerous.

I assume the smell is coming from your vaginal area and not excessive sweating.  Have you tried taking probiotics?  There are all kinds out there.  You can get them at any store.  Have you ever tried a product called Rephresh?  Check it out.  It could help.  Sometimes food we eat can have an affect as well.  Is your diet generally healthy?  Low processed foods, lots of fruits and veggies.

I would try to create a healthy vaginal environment and see if that helps.

Hi  You did not say what the smell was like.  That can be important. You may have a reaction to your cleaning solutions.

If you google: vaginal smells there are many articles to read.
