Oh gosh, I'm so sorry you're dealing with that. I'm not positive what it could be, but I'd definitely suggest talking with your gynecologist about it and the sooner the better. He/she may want you to see a urologist about the problem.

Hang in there.

Hi there! Its when I am trying to go to the bathroom that the bulge forms and I push it upwards and I am able to go to the bathroom, almost seems like it gets stuck there? My GI doc says maybe a rectal prolapse but wouldn't a CT scan and colonoscopy show that? I don't know. When I go I also feel a tugging pulling sensation in my lower right abdomen. I've been drinking lots of water, adding fiber, and taking probiotics but its not helping much :(

I don't know a lot about rectal prolapse. I would think the GI doc would be able to see that. I hope you get some answers soon!

Hi there. Me too! I don't know why my GI doc is so interested in hearing what the gyno has to say, I assumed he'd be able to see that too. Kind of backwards sounding to me. We maybe he meant vaginal prolapse and I am the one confused because he said sometimes the vaginal wall drops into the rectum and so I figured he meant a rectal prolapse or so I have it confused? I know very little about this stuff too.

I went to the specialist early. He got me in today. He did an exam and said I have a rectocele and cystocele and probable interstitial cystitis. Ugh. He wants me to take Benefiber, Colace, Prelief, Miralax and two other prescriptions but next month we may be discussing surgery to put the bladder in a sling which he is hesitant to do because of my age but also rectocle repair. He says the rectocele is basically a hernia between the vaginal wall and rectum :(

What a day!

Well.... at least you've now gotten some answers, not necessarily the ones you wanted, but now you know what's going on and how to fix it. Hopefully the prescriptions will help some. (((hug)))

thanks. My mom wants me to try and take a homeopathic try first. Shes really into that so I am going to start adding aloe to my diet several times a day but surgery is really the only repair for the rectocele since I have to deal with it on a daily basis. The bladder sling can be done with the "hernia" repair..so..who knows.

I doubt the homeopathic doctor can fix this but I'll give it a try first.
