mammogram after pregnancy loss

I recently miscarried around 16 weeks.

I am concerned about breast cancer but don't have any tumors that I know of

I asked my OB for a mammogram and he referred me to the mammography center. Its been a few weeks since the miscarriage, so I called the OB's office and asked them if being post-partum would interfere with a mammography reading. The OB said he didn't know and just to ask the mammography center. The mammography center said they don't know either.

Am I being totally unreasonable to expect people with extensive medical training to be able to answer this question? Shouldn't an OB know something about breasts? Shouldn't the mammography center know something?

Or maybe I'm the one with the problem.

Yes, I am disappointed my OB does not know the answer.

Its ironic that doctors get upset when patients go online to research health issues. Well, some of us have no choice, because our doctors don't know the answers.

Sometimes I wonder what I am paying them for. I am left with no choice but to google this and try to research it for myself.
