I didn't really know where to ask this, so I figured this would be the best place. I had a Mirena IUD placed 6 weeks after my last daughter was born. I believe it was in February of 2009. I got it removed 6 weeks ago, and my period still hasn't returned. I stopped having periods completely after about 6 months on the Mirena, so I don't know when to expect my period to return. I talked to the nurse practitioner at my OB's office 2 weeks ago and she told me to give it a few more weeks before I start worrying.... Now 2 weeks later, still nothing! I've taken 2 pregnancy tests, one 3 weeks after it was removed and one at 5 weeks, both were negative. Is this normal for my period to take this long to come back?!

Hello and Welcome!
It can take awhile for your body to get back in the swing of things after being on hormonal birth control.
I haven't had any signs at all! Nothing! I'm starting to get aggravated because my husband and I are wanting to start TTC soon and without a period, I don't know when to try! I figured maybe I'll give it a couple more weeks and take another test. Then I'll call the doctor after that I guess.
Since you are TTC, you may want to call your doctor and get things moving along!
