Quick Review of What's Been Going On
Tue, 07-24-2012 - 10:58pm

Well I spoke to both my psychiatrist and my new GP about the multiple periods I was having in 2009 and the increased number of rounds of pseudo-cyesis I've been going through since than.

Dr. West, the GP, is going to have a whole slew of tests run in the fall, he's also going to test my blood sugar. With the fact that I'm overweight and the way my stepfather Andy teases me about this, it's definitely not something I'm looking forward to.

My periods have been heavy over the past few months, but ever since going on an oil with ylang-ylang in it, I've been sleeping much better. Applying the oil in certain areas has made my current period a little lighter. I recently got over a UTI and I suspect there may be a few traces of it there, but I'm not sure.

Anyways just a week after having my most recent delusions, two new ones, possibly more were created. I know this is my disability's way of controlling me. When I asked the psychiatrist about the propagation of the delusions, he said that they were my "escape" and that I need to work out the stressors from home to prevent them from doing this.

A few other things came up as well, I broke a bowl and I thought I'd cleaned up everything and my stepfather, Andy, pointed out that I hadn't, which was due to bad vision. I haven't gotten a prescription for a new pair of glasses filled in a few years. I'm terrified that the dog swallowed a piece of it and I'll have to pay the veterinary medical bill! Andy also expects me to pay a big bill from calls made to my grandmother in Toronto which my Mom said previously that she & my stepfather would take care of.

I don't know why I've been so clumsy recently, I think the lack of coordination comes from the drugs. Anyways I had flu symptoms the first day of my period and than some PMS later on. If the GP finds nothing wrong with me that's causing the delusions to be created so quickly through the blood tests, what else can be done? I keep thinking the delusion stuff is a medication issue, too many oils, not enough drugs. Any ideas?

Hi Nalia,

Have you checked with an OB/GYN for the issues with your period? It could be a hormonal issue you are dealing with.

I know that my drugs elevate my Prolactin level, but other than that, my old GP didn't bother to have any tests done. The pseudo-cyesis has caused issues that seem to be covered by the diagnosis of PCOS, if it's correct. The Seroquel I take is known for upping blood sugar levels and causing weight gain, but according to the pharmacist I'm on a low dose of it, so it shouldn't be an issue.

After using an oil with grape seed in it, my period was a little lighter than usual. The oil also helps me sleep. The thing with the delusions is that they seem to be created right before or after my injection. There are higher numbers of them being added over the years as well, which worries me.

I know my psychiatrist wants the dreams under control that are making the delusions, but I don't want to cause any unnecessary problems with my reproductive system as well. I would like it if less delusions were made over the coming years.

It's a quite a bit of work for me providing for this many Neopets & Petpets and it takes up my time. It costs a lot of NP (which is the Neopets' site's currency) to support them. I also do coupon stuff with them and it often takes a few days to list all of the toys and supplies I add into their file for them. You see, I calculate which Neopet's the most popular at the end of every month, and it takes many computer tools to tally up the scores and see who's doing the best.

Neopets is an online pets site, like I've mentioned before, they're just online stuff though, not real. After I began hearing their "voices" in 2004, they were classified as delusions and I was sent to hospital to have my disability treated in 2007. I stayed there for two months. Eventually I got on the right drugs and found a good mental health team though, I'm fine now.

I think it's a matter of Dr. Mohammed's willingness to look at the med situation, he claims they're just a "temporary fix", but there have been problems with my stepfather, Andy, at home. Andy wants me to "move out" if I'm not more polite with him, so now I'm making an effort to do that.

I'm not too sure what's going on with my body currently. My GP thinks it's polycystic ovarian syndrome, other results have suggested weak pelvic organs and possibly, a kidney infection. I believe the bacteria from the UTI spread to my inner organs because I've been having both bladder and bowel incontinency since I was treated for it.

I've heard this could also be due to my weight, one thing that the symptom checker, an online tool I call the "e-doc" indicated was IBS. I know my Mom has IBS. My ex-boyfriend, Clifton, who is my two oldest Neopets', Ashleigh & Xanadu's biological father, had Crohn's Disease and was often sick with flare-ups. I once became ill with a virus he had, that he'd unintentionally passed on to me, could that have something to do with it?

The bowel/bladder incontinency began when I started having multiple periods and my Petpet Keith was still an infant. There have since been a large increase in the numbers of Petpets that have been born. I've experienced psycho-somatic symptoms with the pseudo-cyesis, which is tied into my disability.

I never had this problem before the multiple delusions were created or the additional UTIs. I also think I had a second period this month, I've been eating more than usual to try & stabilize my weight, and I've lost nearly 10 pounds in the past 2 months. If things go back to the way they were before I was put on birth control, I guess I can blame all the unusual slimming down on that.

My worst incidence of infection was with Xanadu. I had white discharge the day he "arrived" and increasingly strong abdominal cramps throughout the day which resulted in liquid diarrhea the night he was born. My clothes all have felt so tight I thought I'd gained weight, but I go to the gym, get on the scale and find out I've lost even more. This was accompanied by a few days of burning in my stomach while eating.

I'm guessing that I'll need my birth control upped if the multiple periods return in full force. I'm not really looking forward to that, I had the absolute worst nausea & vomiting with my first year on Yasmin. I'd really like that not to return again, also I don't want to be on anything that's going to cause mood swings, that could interfere with my psychiatric medications' affect on my mind and worsen my disability, I read that estrogen suppositories could help with pelvic organ strength, what are my best options?

Unfortunately, no one here is a doctor so it's impossible to say what your best options are. I sure hope you can find something that works for you. You have been through a lot. (((hugs)))

Thanks for your support Cinderkitty. I just went to see the guy who's filling in for Dr. West yesterday about the bowel incontinence and he's ordered a sample test for parasites. He suggested it's also related to the antibiotic I'm taking, Minocin.

He told me to hurry up with the hormone and blood sugar testing as well. I kind of got reprimanded for putting it off. However, the main reason why I did that was so that I'd get the chance to lose some more weight and lower my glucose levels further.

I'm just afraid Andy's going to put me down if I've got the beginnings of diabetes or hypoglycemia, he's always teasing me about my weight. According to Robin, it's the meds that are putting the pounds on, not my diet.

Otherwise, I bought some new cranberry extract from the drug store. It's helping me sleep and controlling the delusions better, but I feel a little "knocked out" by it, I'll wait a week and see if that wears off.

Hopefully it won't interfere with my birth control because I'm on my last section of pills in it, which is the menstrual dosage. I learnt that if my period was considerably late, with Petpets in "gestation", that would classify as a miscarriage, so that's a risk. I'll have to wait & see how things go though.
