Fibroids tend to grow rapidly right before menopause. There is no correlation between rapid growth and cancer. Get a second opinion. You don't need a hysterectomy unless you want one. My fibroid grew from the size of a golf ball to the over 2 pounds in less than a year. I had it taken out and was as good as new.

(((Hug))) It's hard not to jump to worst case scenario thoughts, isn't it? But, since it's such a rare occurrance, we have to think positively that you won't have it.

When is your surgery schedule for? Will you be getting a 2nd opinion prior?
