Trying to conceive
Sun, 02-19-2012 - 2:43pm

I am 24 years old and was taking the depo shot. However I stopped it this past August. My husband and I are trying to conceive; however no such luck. I just started having what I would consider my period in Dec. and then again in January both which were very light. On Feb. 3rd started off red then brown and lasted until the 8th. Now on Feb. 17th started again pink then brown and still going. Could this be implantation bleeding or just hormonal imbalance? Any suggestions?

Hello and Welcome!

Everyone reacts differently to the Depo shot. It can take many months, even a year, for your body to get back to a normal cycle. Do you know if you are ovulating? If not, I would recommend you start tracking your cycles. Take your basal body temperature every morning before you get out of bed and graph it. For more specific information, check out the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility. She explains exactly how to do it and it's very informative. It was my bible for a long time and I learned so much about my body. I'm still extremely in tune with it.

I wish you the best with conceiving. I know it's hard, but try to be patient!
