This is something that has crossed my mind lately actually. With me having made the choice to lose a significant amount of weight I am very concerned that this might become a problem. I have been doing pilates for some reason I have it in my mind that if I tone up while I lose weight that will help me not to have this problem. Not sure if there is anything actually to this train of thought but I have it.

I am vigilant about moisturizing my skin. I use body login after every bath and shower. My skin is in pretty good shape, and I credit the sweet smelling cream I slather on. I like the stuff from Bath and Body and both buy it at the semi annual sale (going on now...) and have trained my brother that it is the perfect gift. SJ

I have head Star Jones say from time to time she never had skin removal surgery after her bypass surgery weight loss. She says doctors and experts told her to do Pilates and she followed their advice and it worked for her. I don't have Pilates at my gym. I'll have to look for a place in my area. I hope it works for you!

Pilates is really fun. There are some good videos on Exercise tv that aren't that hard to Learn. All you need is a yoga mat, or if you have carpeting, a towel. It is less meditative than yoga, but done well, you can really feel it in all your muscles. SJ

I have a DVR'd episode I do from Sharon Mann. Once I get back into it and lose a little weight I am thinking to take a class. A parent of one of my students teaches a small pilates class that one of my co workers goes to. My co worker is trying to get me to go but I told her maybe in a few months.

I know there is no realistic way for me to non surgically deal with the loose skin I have. It will surely get worse as I lose more weight. I dont mind surgery - have had enough already to not be very anxious about it. My only concern is the cost that will be involved. I definitely will need my stomach reduced, not sure about the thighs or arms yet and just for my self esteem I want my breasts lifted.

Curious as this is the 100 lbs+ forum...how have any of you that have lost a significant amount already dealt with not having surgery? Im sure creams and toning can only do so much..?

I have lost 60 pounds and have not had issues with my skin. I lost very slowly, and I work out a lot. SJ

Terri-
Welcome back! :) GTW on getting back to a healthy new year. I'm excited to hear all about your new journey.

I've also found some parts of my body are toned and next to it is really lose skin. I'm in my mid 30's and HOPE some of it will bounce back. Enjoy the swimming- that sounds so refreshing!
