I am a dedicated weight lifter - here are a few things you can do - you need a set or two of dumb bells - either 2.5 and 5 or 5 and 8 pounds are good starting weights.

Bravo to you!! That's a fantastic loss, you must feel great! My favourite low impact exercise is water aerobics. It's great, lots of fun, and you don't sweat :smileyhappy:

Keep up the great work!

You are correct - you do three sets of each exercise. The first set you do 15 reps, the second set 12, the third 10. The idea is that as you get tired, you increase the weight but decreae the reps. You take a 1-2 minute break between each set. If you are staying at one weight, you could do 15-15-12 reps or 12-12-10 depending on how you feel. After you do the routine a few times, you can tell by how you feel when its time to do the next set.

IYou are also correct about where your triceps are - the biceps are in the front and the triceps in the back - you want to work both so they stay equally strong.

Building muscle is great becaseu when you are at rest, muscle burns more calories to just 'be' than fat - not a whole lot, but every little bit helps.

If you get Exercise TV on your cable On Demand, they have great videos for Pilates, which is also very low impact. I can usually put together three 10 minute videos and hit my core and legs - if you did this twice a week and lifting for arms three times, you could give your knee a rest and still feel like you worked out. Don't worry if you can't do all the moves in the beginning - one time you might want to just watch the video and see how the routine goes, then do it. They are also available on the pC, and you can download them cheaply but I just use whatever the selection is that month.

Best wishes

It's kind of the same thing with a pool in Arizona.
