Kudos to you Maryanne! GREAT JOB!As for weight loss goals, I've always been told to set each small goal at 5% of your body weight. Personally, I keep several goals at hand - 1) The minor goal (5%), 2) The next milestone (right now this is to get out of the 300's) and 3) The big target goal (160 lbs). Cutting out fast food is a great start! One of the first things I did was cut soda out of my daily life and replaced it with water. Now I have a cup of coffee and a small glass of o.j. with breakfast, and green tea with dinner. The rest of the day is nothing but water and it really does help quite a bit with the first stages of weight loss. The first bit of weight you lose is "water weight", water stored in those annoying fat cells. The more water you ingest, the more it circulates the water weight out. Sure, you have to go to the bathroom a lot which is incovenient, but no more so than the extra pounds you carry day to day.Are you doing any exercising or just trying to change the eating habits right now? Maybe we can work together? I need someone to go through it with me! My ultimate goal is 150. Right now I'm around 260. I've heard the best way is to set small goals for yourself, instead of huge ones that feel like you're never getting close to your dream weight. So, since you seem to be doing a good job so far (congratulations on your loss!), what would you recommend? Incriments of 15-30, maybe? I want to eliminate fast food starting now, but I don't plan to start on the actual dieting and exercise itself until January 1. I would love to have someone as support who's going through it too, even if it is only online support!
