I'll go first ;)
Hi I'm tmz and I've been a member on this site since I started my weight loss journey in the fall of 2007. Back then I started at 285 pounds. I worked really hard last year and lost 48 pounds in 2011. I'm participating in the 'lose 15 pounds by Valentines Day' challenge. The real goal is to reach 185 by August and 175 by end of the calendar year.We literally can't remember the last time a member on this site lost 100 pounds- I plan to break that record. This Year. 185- Here I Come!

Go for it TMZ! I know you can do it!

My name is Misty and I've been a member of iVillage off and on (mostly off) under several usernames since 1999ish. I'm currently the CL of the Kick Butt: Quit Smoking Today board so pop by and say hi sometime! *insert shameless plug here*

I've been a more constant face here since my major wake-up call in May of 2010. Most have heard about it but for those who haven't, here's the sum up. I had a 10mm kidney stone that required surgery to remove. The specialist told me that I was too overweight for a standard surgery table. He also told me that I could expect to go through this regularly with more stones if I didn't change my eating habits and do something about my weight. As I cried in my husband's arms I decided that it was time to get down to business and do something about it.

Up to this point I've been unsuccessful in keeping the weight off but I haven't given up. I'm just taking a few more detours than planned! :smileytongue:

I married my best friend in March 2009 and I have a beautiful, intelligent DD that I love to pieces. I work full time and am planning to go back to school part-time for the summer semester. I was aiming for this semester but there just wasn't enough time to get enrolled and we have too many other places where the money needs to go right now.

I also am long-winded and have a tendency to ramble a lot. Happy New Year ladies!

I'm still here. I have fought with my weight my whole life. I pretty much know what I weighedcfrom the time I graduated from high school until now. My highest weight was in 2004, but I don't actually know what it was. When I reached 200 pounds, I stopped weighing. In June 2004, I decided to make one last effort to lose the weight, and that when it didn't work, I would seek counseling to accept that I was heavy. I joined the gym for the summer, looking for a place to swim, and found my wonderful personal trainer. I first weighed in September and I calculate my starting weight as 225 because I lost about a pound a week in the next yea. I got as low as 159 for about a minute and a half. I started posting, I think, in 2005. I have had many ups and downs but I have stayed committed to working out through it all. Food is another story. I am at 180. I am fluctuating between 176 and 180. My first goal, which I have had for a while, is to get to 175 and hold there or below. I have stopped wearing my rings and I have vowed to not wear them until that happens. Having goals and rewards has worked for me in the past, but this one hasn't helped. But I am still using it. Journaling my food also works for me. Which makes me wonder why I don't do it right now...when I am eating on plan, I eat a high protein menu plan that requires eating every two to three hours. I am off plan, and my biggest issue is what eat between dinner and bedtime. Two things that have helped in the past are having a bath at night and going to bed earlier. Also eating Cheerios at bedtime helps me. Again, I know these work, I just don't always do them. The gym is my sanctuary, and I really love working out. I walk everywhere and that is good too. When I am on plan, I nedlessly walk the stairs at work just for the calorie burn, walk at lunch, and do 'bathroom exercises' where I stretch each time I go to the bathroom. All of those have fallen by the wayside. For 2012, I plan to do the things I know work, and not do the things I know don't. It seems so easy...but I know how hard this journey is.. Here's hoping we all have a great 2012, SJ

Hello All! Well I am new to this discussion board. I used I-Village a couple of years ago when I seperated from my husband. I am experiencing my wake up call right now. I have been sick for the past week and have had so much blood taken with no findings. I have had several EKG's. I am at my heaviest weight ever at 295. My blood pressure is again out-of-control even though i take 3 meds for it. Now, I have heart palpitations. It is TIME TO CHANGE my eating and excercise habits. This week has been VERY scary. I have a 12 yo boy who is the sunshine of my life. I am still seperated from my husband and will be getting divorced soon. Food is my best friend and always has been. I have stuggled with my weight mostly since after college (1995). I am 41. I hope to find someone to communicate with here on this Board to help me with my journey to health.

Well, I could go on and on but I won't....Happy New year!
