Cooking party?

My dieting buddy has heard of something called a cooking party where people get together and cook a bunch of healthy meals to put in the freezer and share them. Each person goes home with several meals to freeze. I think it is a great idea and we want to put something like this together. Has anyone here been to one and can you tell me how it works? Thanks!

If I had freezer space, I think this would be a lot of fun. I'd love to hear how it goes if you decide to give it a try! :) - Karen

Very interesting! I had never heard of this so I Googled a bit and found some ideas and it honestly sounds fascinating. Here is a good description: http://www.bigredkitchen.com/2010/01/how-to-host-a-freezer-meal-making-party-including-6-chicken-recipes/

I'd love to hear more about it if you plan/host one.

Hi - I've never done this.  I don't actually have enough freezer space to pull if off, but it sounds like a great idea if you do.  One of the things that gets me in trouble diet-wise is when I'm really busy and I get hungry before I've figured out dinner.  That's when I resort to things like take-out food or junk.  Having healthy meals all ready to go could be a great way to avoid that problem.

I looked around on the internet for a few minutes and found a bunch of sites with freezer meal recipes.  I didn't find quite as much about the party idea, but there were a few things.  I hope you let us know how this turns out if you do it!
