I'd like to ask everyone what exactly they are doing for a diet. Are you following a plan like South Beach Diet or just trying to eat less and healthier.

Welcome back!  (BTW, may I ask your name?  I always want to say hi to you by name, but I don't know it.)  :)

I'm not doing a specific diet.  My plan involves lowering my carbs as much as possible during the day and then eating a reasonable amount with dinner.  I don't lose quickly (about a pound a week), but I'm never hungry, so that's good.

What plan are you using?

HI Karen,

My name is Wendy. I thought I had put a signature in my profile but I am not seeing it so I need to look at it again.

I am not on a diet per say. I am trying to watch what I eat and get in some exercise each week. I don't lose quickly either and have only lost 5 lbs in the last two months. But if I can keep this up, I'll be close to my goal of 30 lbs in a year.

Hi, Wendy!

You've got a great attitude, and you're so right.  As long as that scale is moving the right direction, we'll get where we want to be!

I am just seeing this conversation and wanted to ask if anyone had tried Weight Watchers. I have been over on the message forum and they seem so successful. I am finding it hard to monitor and to be honest, expensive.

Can you tell me describe some of what you are doing for me and if there is any financial changes in your budget due to your dieting?

Brenda -

I did WW after I had my first child.  It worked really well, but I was starving all the time.  That was about 20 years ago though, and they've changed a lot since then.

I'm currently on a really tight budget, so I can't belong to any weight loss plan that costs money.  What works best for me is to cut out carbs as much as possible.  I spend more on protein but less on carbs, so I think it balances out pretty well.  The one thing I do splurge on is low carb pasta.  It's more expensive than regular pasta, but it sure makes meal planning easier.
