It is low carb but much healthier than Atkins. The 1st Phase if I remember correctly eliminates most fruit and then you slowly start adding in the healthy carbs including fruit.

Pretty smart - combining South Beach and Weight Watchers! I'm the same as you in that when I did South Beach Phase 1 I had great results in the belly area too! I'm such a carby though that Phase 2 was hard for me to continue with so I love the flexibility of Weight Watchers.

That sounds like a good plan! What did you find hardest about South Beach when you were on it before? Is there a big difference between the foods you eat while on South Beach and Weight Watchers?

Hey Amy,

I'm not that familiar with the South Beach Diet... is it low carb? I probably need to focus on lowering my carbs because they always seem high - I'm suprised by how many carbs fruits and veg have and I"m not sure how that works into a low carb diet!?

Imagine showing up for work one day in some of your old party clothes - imagine the raised eyebrows lol

Yea for a new summer wardrobe! I actually saved all my smaller clothes thinking that I would quickly loose the weight and get back into them which obviously didn't happen. It's been very interesting opening those boxes and realizing that while some of the clothes fit now they are not my style anymore. Party clothes and things from college give me the giggles now!

Well that's exciting! I love fitting into smaller sizes! Usually I'll wait to see if the size sticks and then I have a few items that I've gotten tailored because I love them. If you're in between sizes or expect to lose more, second hand stores or consignment stores are a great way to hold you over until you hit your goal weight without breaking the bank!
