Monday July 30 2012

Okay, so I'm going to track until I go away, and then I'll hop back on the tracking wagon when I get back! Monday was a bust. No exercise since I went out for dinner with my gram and Matt. Dinner was atrocious once I added it all up. Siighhhh. And I wasn't feeling great this morning. I have to say, I have much more motivation to eat well when unhealthy food doesn't agree with me at all! LOL Finished my laundry to get packed, and tonight I'll put together some food to take with me.

Breakfast: Soy Coffee Protein Smoothie
Snack: Starbucks Cool Lime Refresher
Lunch: Salmon Filet, Cucumber & Radish Salad, Blueberry pie
Snack: Oatmeal w/berries & nuts
Dinner: Fish Tacos, glass of wine, 1/2 serving sweet potato fries
Dessert: 1/2 serving of Key Lime Pie

Calories: 2,363 (goal 1,600)

Exercise: 0 Minutes (goal 210 Minutes / week)

Really - fish tacos set you over? Oye! It's those hidden calories that sneak up on you when you aren't looking! The lime refresher sounds wonderful though!

Delicous!! It's too fabulous! And a great coffee replacement in the summer. The bit of caffeine in there seems to be keeping my operations too! LOL

Sheesh, I've been eating out lots - calories in the 1900 range all week so far. No exercise since Saturday, and now I'm on holidays as of 4:30 today.

BUT check this out! Where I'm saying in Vernon there is a Swarovski Spa - and it's not out of this world expensive - for $40 day you can have access to all of the spa amenities, and a pedicure is $80! I know what I"m doing when I'm there! http://www.sparklinghill.com/

Seriously I'm so excited for this holiday!

Oooooh, I did try a new ab move at the gym though - you hand upside down from your knees on a bar, and do hanging sit-ups. I could do about 4 LOL

That spa looks amazing! I'm sure you'll come back refreshed! Have a great time on vacay!

I think we used to do those kind of moves on the monkey bars at recess when we were kids! It sounds dangerous now...lol!

Monday August 20

Whew! Back from an awesome two week vacation - it was great! I got so much packed into those two weeks! Whale watching, kayaking, paddle boarding, sight seeing, winery tours and lazing on the beach!

My exercise was awesome while I was gone - I probably only missed exercising 3 days out of the whole vacation, and was pretty active throughout. My food however was only so-so. I had healthy breakfasts every day (smoothie or rice cakes with natural peanut butter) but while on the island we ate out a fair amount for lunches, but had dinner at home, and in Vernon it was the other way around - healthy lunches, but more dinners out.

I'm putting together a plan for the fall, which is going to include some sessions with a personal trainer myself! I'm back at work today and back working at the gym this week - a tough adjustment for sure after living a life of leisure! LOL

It doesn't sound like your food was so-so, it sounds like you made plenty of healthy choices and allowed yourself some vacation splurges. The whole point of a vacation is to enjoy it food and all and you did! And you fit in exercise! Most people on vacation totally let it all go and end up way off track. I think you should give yourself way more credit for a job well done =)

Thanks ladies! Kristy whale watching was AWESOME! Except I burned my forehead and nose really badly - didn't even think about sunscreen and we were out on the water for three hours. Ouch. LOL But I would definitely do it again!
