Wednesday Feb 1

This week has been great so far - another trainer sent me her competition regime including diet and exercises. The new 4 day split I put together is pretty close to what she had, so I'll stick with my routine. I do have to add more cardio (boooooo.).

The food was the interesting part. Basically they calculated what her calorie needs were with a high level of activity, and reduced that by 500 per day. So if her calorie needs were 2100, then they put her down to 1600 and told her that she had so many grams of carbs, so many grams of protein, and so many grams of fat to take in. The percentages worked out to about 40% Carbs & Protein each, and 20% Fat, plus one high carb day where you ate 50% carbs, 33% protein and 17% fat.

Food:

  • Calories: 1,316 (39.1% Carb + 34.8% Prot + 26.2% Fat)
  • Breakfast: 1 egg, 1/2 cup egg whites + 1 cappuccino
  • Snack: 12 Almonds, 1/2 grapefruit, Skinny Pepperint mocha

Carrie - usually I do plan in advance, but when I'm on target you can kind of see how I'm eating the same thing all the time. You do get an idea of what you need to eat to get to those numbers though - so if I'm low in protein I know maybe to grab a protein bar instead of my grapefruit for snack, or to make sure I eat fish and quinoa for dinner.

I'm a bit behind on tracking and once again, the last half of the week hasn't been pretty. LOL

Vanessa, I really do believe you can reshape your body with weights to a certain extent - it won't make me taller, it won't give me longer legs, but you can create certain illusions with weight training. And I still haven't found the exercise that gives me bigger boobs. I'll keep looking. LOL

When you find that one - PLEASE share with me!!!

That makes sense.

Tuesday to Wednesday Feb 27-28

Well this week is looking just okay. I did have a donair for dinner last night, as Matt finally found a job at a warehouse so I bought him some steel toed boots and we ate in the delightful mall food court to celebrate. LOL I have gotten in two workouts this week, but am dealing with an achy back. I tried getting it massaged, but resorted to getting it needled yesterday and I'll probably go back for another session next week. In the mean time I will resort to hot tub and wine and see if that helps. It almost always does. :-)

That's awesome that your clothes are fitting looser. I always hear that strength training reshapes your body!

Miranda - the food is the hardest but the most "bang for my buck" for me to! Do you think that with more muscle you'll need to eat more?

Better fitting clothes are always a plus! I tend to focus on the scale moving more because it's seems like more concrete fact of weight loss but I really should just concentrate on how I feel and how my clothes feel.
