Monday Sept 10

Well I'm a bit behind on the September journal, but I kind of felt I was still in summer mode last week LOL I have had a few weeks where I've basically eaten what I've wanted, stopped taking my meds, and I got in one workout last week. ONE. It was almost like I thought "well things are kind of sucking right now, so why don't we see how badly they can suck over the week" Obviously that didn't work out well because I'm feeling like crap.

So for September my goals are:

  • Make a meal plan each week, and prepare lunches each week
  • Keep to my low-fodmap diet 80% of the time
  • Keep up with my meds
  • Get in 4-5 workouts each week, including one on the weekend

I have my friends wedding on the 20th and I've bought a fab new hot pink dress that I'd like to look good in - and there is not much room for error in the dress LOL So I really need to kick things into gear!

Tuesday Sept 11

A pretty good day. My food was over my goal of 1600 but only by 50 which would have been the wine. LOL I got in a good workout - the bootcamp was okay. I'm not sure I'm crazy about her as a teacher, and the time is wierd for me - 5:15. It's a little too late to fit in a workout before hand, but late enough I have time to kill before the class. But it was good and I do feel it in my chest and back today! (pull-ups and push-ups will do it)

Food:

Calories: 1651 / 1600

Breakfast: Soy Coffee Protein Smoothie
Snack: Green Tea
Lunch: 2 Rice Cakes, Carrot Soup, Sardines in chili sauce
Snack: Oatmeal w/nuts & blueberries
Pre-Workout: Hardboiled Egg
Post-Workout: Orange Protein Smoothie
Dinner: Brown Rice, Kale, Mushrooms with 2 poached eggs & truffle oil, Glass of Red Wine

Exercise:

Goal 60 / 210

60 Minutes Bootcamp

Water:

Goal 56 / 420

M: 56 oz

I looked everywhere and couldn't find the picture of you in the hot pink dress? :smileywink: I guess we'll see them eventually!

You've certainly got a great start to your week and 50 calories over for a glass of wine is a good price to pay for a little relaxation - it was a very balanced day!

Well ladies already off the wagon a bit. on Tuesday I got a call from my Uncle that my gram wasn't feeling well and by the time I got over there we had to take her to hospital so Tuesday day/evening was spent at the hospital. I had eaten really well up until hten, but dinner was a sweet marie chocolate bar, bag of popcorn, 2 granola bars and a glass of wine.

She is still in the hospital, and they aren't entirely sure what's wrong. She had the blood supply to her intestines cut off - an ischemic stroke, but they just don't know what the cause was yet.

Wednesday I was at the hospital before I went into work, and then worked at the gym at night. The mid-day was a bit of a problem, as I had Tacotime (chicken taco no cheese, mexi fries, and a dairy milk chocolate bar) the rest of the day was fine, but again no workouts at all this week. Tonight I'll be up at the hospital again, as we really feel we need to have someone there all the time to ask questions and make sure they are controlling her pain.

I am going to log all my foods the good and the bad and see where I'm at. Definitely bloated because of the food choices, so need to get it together!

I'm so sorry to hear about your gram! Don't forget to take care of yourself during this stressful time - skipping tracking/workouts might just be what you need to do to keep yourself level!

Thanks ladies! Well my gram is still in the hospital, and has had two surgeries, so now they think they've fixed the problem. She will still be in for another week, so it is going to be a bit hectic as I have a major event plus a wedding this weekend. I think what I'm going to try to do is go to the Y that is closer to my house after dinner. I'll pop over to the hospital after work, grab dinner, and then hit the gym. I'm really feeling like I'm regressing not being able to work out this past week! Anyhoo, I'm hoping the worst is over and now we're just looking at recovery.

So no food tracking or workouts since Monday, and my food has not been good. It also has been pretty irregular, so while the choices weren't great, I didn't eat a whole lot so am hoping that the damage isn't too bad. Still haven't hopped on the scale!

I hope your gram mends quickly - it's such a struggle to watch the ones we love in pain!

It sounds like you need to let it all go except for a workout or two. Don't track food, fill your water glass but don't count, just get through the week. I do suggest a few workouts though - they seem to help balance the mental and emotional mind! Can you take a few afternoons off work if you need to - just to get some "you" time in?

Well I got in a workout Monday, but not sure what I'll get in the rest of the week. I won't lie - I could go today at lunch but am getting a manicure instead for the wedding! Priorities! LOL

My gram is doing so much better - I hope I have her genes - the doc says she is doing as well as a 50 year old. Not bad for a 90 year old!! She is up and walking around a little bit, and is back on some food rather than IV sustenance. So she should be home within the next week.

I am actually excited about the events, but because my workouts have sucked, I'm going to have to go and find some kind of foundation garment that is going to suck me all in! LOL

Oh Miranda - I'm so happy to hear about you gram! Dh's grandma is remarkable like that also - 93 years old and did the 1 mile "race" with us last spring. Just amazes me at the gumption of some of those ladies. Here's hoping that we all end up like that!

Well is sounds like you have your priorities straight then! lol Are you doing anything special for your manicure - french nails, gels, or new color? Do you go bold with your nail paint?

I've heard good things about spanxs undergarmets but haven't ever tried them. I need the ones that smooth and slim my thighs but at least I can usually hide it with a more flowing dress style.
