Monday Sept 10

Well I'm a bit behind on the September journal, but I kind of felt I was still in summer mode last week LOL I have had a few weeks where I've basically eaten what I've wanted, stopped taking my meds, and I got in one workout last week. ONE. It was almost like I thought "well things are kind of sucking right now, so why don't we see how badly they can suck over the week" Obviously that didn't work out well because I'm feeling like crap.

So for September my goals are:

  • Make a meal plan each week, and prepare lunches each week
  • Keep to my low-fodmap diet 80% of the time
  • Keep up with my meds
  • Get in 4-5 workouts each week, including one on the weekend

I have my friends wedding on the 20th and I've bought a fab new hot pink dress that I'd like to look good in - and there is not much room for error in the dress LOL So I really need to kick things into gear!

Hey Carrie, just a light pink - but I do get the gel manicure - so the nail polish stays on for weeks without chipping or anything!

I still don't know what I'm going to wear to the wedding. I'm not really happy with the pink dress, but I'll see. I'm hoping to be home maybe by 9 tonight, so I'll have to try it on with the shoes and see what I like best. The Spanx I think were a bit of a waste of money - I didn't see much of a difference, and the fabric on the dress is quite thin, so you can see the seams of the spanx under the fabric. It's not a skin tight dress or anything, so I don't know. Heck I have another day to decide. LOL

How frustrating about the wedding dress and spanx! I still have a dress in my closet with the tags on that I just can't seem to wear... I keep trying it on but it's just not "quite right" and I'm not sure why.

Regardless - I'm sure you looked stunning and the facebook pics certainly look like it was a fun time!

Yup the wedding was beautiful! And the reception was fun! Sunday I went out for brunch with my sister, brother-in-law and Matt, and then went back home and basically slept on and off all afternoon until I went to visit my gram at dinner. Now today I've woken up with an awful head cold (as have two of my co-workers who were also at the wedding) and we've got another event tomorrow night. So I'm heading home to drug myself into a stupor and hopefully be in shape to work tomorrow night!

Exercise - non-existant. Food - not horrible, but not great. Water - GREAT! Because I've got a cold I'm drinking water and tea like crazy.

Sheesh - when it rains it pours I guess. I'll be glad to see the back end of September!

Esh Miranda - I hope you feel better quick! There is always something going around in the fall - those darn kids go back to school and start spreading diseases again! :smileywink: I hope a good nights sleep takes the edge off it!

LOL Carrie I'm usually pretty lucky in avoiding a lot of those colds, but a combination of being tired and being close quarters with the germy folk caught up with me.

I'm popping dayquil and am hoping that I'll be back to normal in a few days!

Well my last big event is over! We had great turnout for a museum tour for our donors, and it was actually really interesting! It was a huge collection of the third original member of the North West Mounted Police, and talk about a hoarder! This guy kept everything so we have journals, uniforms, menus from what he ate on the way over to the Boer War, you name it, we've got it!

I'm still fighting off this cold which has decided to bunk out in my chest. I may try to take a day off this week, but I have work at the gym tonight and then a committee meeting tomorrow. Sheesh. Maybe Friday I'll take to recoup.

Yup I've given into the cold and taken the day off to sleep. I had another work meeting last night that went until 8:30 and honestly I was just pooped. So I figured I'll take today off, and catch up on my sleep and housework!

I have to share my shopping coup with you all though - I was in the hunt for a blender, but didn't want to spend loads of money. So I bought a cheap $40 one from the grocery store. Which promptly broke after a month. So I thought i'd better invest a little more in my next one since I use it every day to blend up ice in my smoothie. I know KitchenAids are a good brand, but holy dinah are they expensive! I didn't want to spend $200 on a blender. But this month, the $200 model was on sale for $160. And then I had enough points to get $30 off, which brought it down to $130 and THEN there was a mail in rebate for $70 which means all totalled it will only cost me $60! What a great deal! :-)

I hope you are completely on the mend! I always feel so guilty taking a day off to relax/sleep because I've just go so much to do but honestly - it usually shaves at least 3 days off the duration of the cold so well worth it in the long run. Good for you for making yourself a priority!

I love your shopping prowress! Awesome deal! A good blender is a must! We got a kitchenaid blender as a wedding present oh so many years ago and I swear they weren't that expensive back then. It's AWESOME though and actually works much better than the $400 vitamix blender that my dad gave me when they sold the house. I use my blender mostly for mixed drinks...just sayin...lol!
