I'm starting this very late because the past two weeks of night shifts was really rough.

Oh Stacy I'm totally keeping my fingers crossed on that job! I don't know how you manage with those hours. But even on your regular job your hours were long including your commute!

And I'm sorry about your mom. I hope she gets some results from these tests that will help you move forward. Do you have any benefits that might help cover costs?

Wow Stacy - you've got so much going on. It may actually not be a terrible thing that your love life is on hold

I heard through the grapevine that the manager I interviewed with was trying to get a reference from my mgt on my shiftwork assignment last week, but probably didn't reach anyone before she left on vacation. I hope that's a positive sign!

Also, a coworker today agreed that she will force me to go to the gym with her after each of our night shifts when they start back up. She promised not to buy any of the many excuses I will probably give to get out of going. Hopefully that'll help me at least get some exercise!

Stacy that's great about the gym! And awesome about the reference! Will keep fingers and toes crossed!

What are you planning to do at the gym? Weights? Cardio?

I hope that is a positive sign Stacy!

Woo-hoo on the coworker forcing you to the gym - hopefully that will help!

I suspect I'll only have the energy for 1/2 hour of any kind of workout, so it'll probably be cardio unless I can find a trainer

Hmmm, quick easy dinners/lunches? I'm big on lunch salads right now. I just get the romaine hearts, cut it up right away, and that way I can just throw a handful into a ziplock container, add some chicken, chickpeas, or fish, plus some friut and pumpkin seeds in, and it's a pretty filling lunch. Or make a stirfry with rice on one of your days off and bring that.

Hope you have a great hike!! And hopefully you won't have to do that 15 hours at the end of the week!!

Salads are a great idea! I thawed some chicken, but hadn't yet figured out what to do with it. I'll go get salad stuff and grill up the chicken to go in it. That ought to get me through the first 3 days. I have 5 shifts this week and I'm thinking about picking up a 6th if no one else volunteers to fill in. Hopefully when I get home on the 3rd night, I'll have the energy to prepare a stirfry or something for the following few days.

How 'bout throwing some stuff in a crockpot and then dividing it up in to containers for the week to bring in for lunch - chicken, stews, soups, chili...
