Well - I did make it to the gym yesterday at lunch for a 2 1/2 mile treadmill run and I did bring my food to work - too bad it included 2 slices of leftover Dominos pizza for lunch and then if that wasn't bad enough I took the kids to Taco Bell for dinner last night and I ended up eating 2 taco supremes. At least I didn't drink any alcohol last night - I just had a Vitamin Water Zero.

Mmmmm.... taco bell! Wait - I mean - naughty Vanessa! Guess we know which list you are on for Christmas...lol!

At least you got a workout in and honestly - I don't think pizza is as bad for us as we think. There probably isn't a whole lot of good nutrition in it but I think 2 slices of pizza can be filling and still range in the o.k. calorie area for a meal. I've suprised myself sometimes by pairing it with a balanced breakfast/dinner and it hasn't completely offset my day...

Do you and Jaimie find yourself going to the same places to eat? Maybe you could look up the menu and have a few healthy options in place. I really don't know how else to do it - even the salads seem dangerous when you eat out!

Have fun in Atlantic City!

Unfortunately no - we tend to try different places. I'm going to have to be one of those boring people that goes out & orders the steamed vegetables and baked chicken cooked in no oil! lol

Yea - that doesn't really sound like fun.

Hey Vanessa, at least you got that workout in. I swear this time of year if you aren't at a party, or going out for drinks, then it's just lack of time that seems to wreak hovoc on our meals!

Hope you have a fabulous time away - Happy Birthday to Jamie!

Lack of time and for me - lack of planning, lack of willpower!

Thursday, Dec 8

Well... the day started off with a free holiday breakfast buffet in my office building's lobby which included a pretty yummy but oh so terrible plate of goodies piled high!

I did go to the gym and run 2 1/2 miles at lunchtime and afterwards I just had a greek yogurt and 2 clementines.

But then after work I did a little birthday shopping and on the way out of the mall I grabbed a Chipotle chicken burrito bowl AND chips with guacamole. I brought it home and had it with a Corona while I watched The Biggest Loser on dvr - now isn't that just hilarious? lol

I had quite the time trying on jeans to take on our weekend getaway. My pile of "tight" clothing in the side of my closet

LMAO at you watching the Biggest Loser with your dinner - I do that too, watch those weight loss shows, eating crap and then saying to myself "yeah I could lose weight too if I had a trainer available 24-7". :-)

I think that this time of year you do what you can. Not every day is going to work out like you planned, but every morning we get a chance to have a day that DOES go the right way. And you make adjustments - like eating less in the afternoon after a big breakfast, or going for a run at lunch like you did. It's all about balance, or at least working towards balance!

I hope you had a great weekend celebrating Jamie's birthday!

I've been there - watching fitness shows or reading a "health" book while munching chips! We all have those days!

December is just brutal! Between parties, interuptions, holiday chaos.... it's amazing that we still manage to funtion at any level of awareness! When is the dress shoppping?
