Vanessa's September Journal

Can I get a good month this year? Geesh! September hasn't started off that great for me but hopefully today was my turning point after the long holiday weekend. Jamie and I have our 5K on the 18th of this month and our cruise is on the 25th so if those two things don't get me motivated - nothing will!

SEPTEMBER

Vanessa... (((HUGS)))

I can just hear the heartache in your post! I'm so sorry you are going through this! Your poor children - I feel for all of you! I hope the counselor can help you with this asap and get you back to calm. Thanks Carrie - it's such a sucky situation!

Is your ex concerned or just trying to blame it on you? I hope the counselor can have a "come to jesus" straightening out with your ex and get him to realize what he is doing. Can you file for emergecy full custody over something like this? I honestly, unfortunately think that he is so upset about the money that he is doing this purposely. Perhaps even to try to get full-custody for himself. In court he didn't fight, argue or mention me & Jamie living together but he fought the child support amount every step of the way. Go figure.

Hey girlie! Saw your facebook post about the 5K - congrats on setting a new time for yourself! That's awesome! I want to know all about it!

I hope you've had a relaxing weekend and that things have calmed down a little. Hopefully with counseling and time you can get back to a calmer state of parenting.

Vanessa, great job on doing the race without all the preparation!! I would have probably just crapped out and stayed home. LOL

I'm glad you are getting to go on this cruise - it will be a much needed break for you!!

Ohhh... a tunnel run!?! That sounds really cool but I totally get you on the claustrophobic thing. Your time is excellent! I haven't done a chip timed event yet but my Thanksgiving one will be chip timed. Was your other 5K chip timed? Did it attache to your ankle or shoe?

Woot Woot on the cruise! Please can I go in your suitcase? How long are you gone for? Have you been on a cruise before? I'd love to try one but worry about being sick from the movement... Enjoy your vacation -you deserve it!

Miranda I would have totally crapped out if it wasn't for Jamie. He was the one who was so psyched up for it - he hasn't done a 5K in years and had been looking forward to it so I went with the intention of just finishing the darn thing lol

Carrie - the other 5K last October was chip timed - it just attached to the laces of my shoe.

The cruise is Sunday to Sunday! I've never been on one before either - I was sea sick on a sail boat back in highschool and have avoided boats since then but everyone says that cruise ships are so big you can't feel the motion. Let's hope they're right!

This week of exercise/eating right/journaling isn't quite going the way I would like it to lol

I did get in a run/walk yesterday at lunch - 30 min on the treadmill for 2.5 miles. My eating was pretty good til I got home and had potato salad at dinner and then ice cream for dessert. 48 oz of water.
