It has been gorgeous weather where I live and I have been trying to get out walking but can't get my toddler to stay in the stroller long enough. Does anyone have any ideas?

Hi Jenna, what a great question. I have seen many a mother walking slowly along while helping her toddler push an empty stroller so I know we aren't the only people to ever have to deal with this. I now have a granddaughter to try to keep in the stroller while I'm out walking. ;-)

I struggled with this when my children were younger and discovered that if I tried to time my walks around nap time then often my toddlers would sit back and fall asleep most of the time. It seems to be working with my granddaughter the last few days so you might find it worth a try.

I realize you posted this months ago.....but haven't been here in a long time so.... hope you don't mind a response now... I laughed when I read the headline of your post, laughed from frustration really. I have the same problem. I actually haven't tried it in a while - I gave up trying a few months ago. My daughter is great and full of energy - but has never been a stroller girl - from very young. So, then my husband decides to go running with her and she stays in the stroller with him for more than 30 minutes. What? Anyway - I've tried, snacks, games, bribes etc - nothing worked. She is now 3 and maybe it is time to try again. I was thinking of resorting to a one of those portable DVD players and some how rig that up to the stroller or have her hold it. Or maybe a hand held video game thing - we don't even own either one now and she is really not even that into videoes etc but I am starting to get desparate to find the energy and time to get out an exercise. Anyway -  I don't have a solution at all - but wanted to let you know that you are not alone on thie one. Maybe I'll try again this weekend, see how it goes! It seems counter productive to have her eating mounds of snacks to keep her in the stroller while I am trying to exercise and lose weight! But.....hopefully we'll find some sort of balance soon!  If you have has some success since posting this - let me know! Best of luck!
